1. Traditional Market. 재래시장

 

1. traditional korean market. 한국의 재래시장

There are many traditional korean markets in Korea.

I took my friends from overseas to a traditional korean market.

I stopped by a traditional korean market on my way home.

 

2. all sorts of street food. 온갖 종류의 길거리 음식

You can see a lot of vender who sell all sorts of street food.

You can enjoy all sorts of street food when you go there.

The place is famous for all sorts of street food.

 

3. The hustle and bustle. 북적거림, 혼잡함

You can experience the hustle and bustle of the marketplace.

I don't like the hustle and bustle at department stores.

I don't want to live in the hustle and bustle of a big city.

2. Convenience store 편의점.

 

1. on every street corner. 거리마다

Convenience stores are on every street corner.

There are but stops on every street corner.

I think there should be trash cans on every street corner.

 

2. 24 hours a day. 하루 24시간.

Most of them are open 24 hours a day.

There are ATMs available 24 hours a day.

Some fast food chains are open 24 hours a day.

 

3. have promotions going on 판촉행사가 진행중이다.

A lot of convenience stores have promotions going on.

The department store have promotions going on right now.

I bought this when the store have promotions going on.

3. Car Insurance. 자동차 보험

 

1. be required by law 법으로 요구하다, 의무화하다

It is required by law to have car insurance in Korea.

Military service is required by law for Korean men.

Recycling is required by law in Korea.

 

2. renew one's car insurance. 자동차보험을 갱신하다.

I have to renew my car insurance every year.

Did you renew your car insurance this year?

I forgot to renew my car insurance.

 

3. vary from person to person. 사람마다 다르다.

The insurance fee varies from person to person.

The ability to learn a language varies from person to person.

The ability to digest  food varies from person to  person.

4. English class. 영어수업.

 

1. Back in school. 예전 학창시절.

One of my favorite subjects back in school was English.

I had to take a quiz every week back in school.

I used to study up late at night back in school.

We were tested on reading and listening skills during our mid-terms and finals.

I was tested on my English speaking skills.

The students were tested on their IQs.

 

3. brush up on ~에 대한 실력을 갈고 닦다.

We also had to brush up on our speaking skills.

I need to brush up on my business English skills.

I watch American TV dramas to brush up on my English skills.

 5. Fatique 피로함

 

1. A lot on one's plate. 해야 할 일이 많다.

I have a lot on my plate.

He seems to have a lot on his plate this week.

It's very stressful when i have a lot on my plate.

 

2. burnt out. 지치다.

I'm trying my best not to get burnt out.

I got burnt out doing the project.

I think you are getting burnt out.

 

3. take a few days off. 며칠 휴가를 내다.

I think I 'll take a few days off after we're done with it.

I really need to take a few days off.

Why don't you take a few days off?
